Bike Lane and Parking T's
The pictures in this gallery are from Piedmont Av in Oakland , CA. They show how a parking strip and bike lane have been marked after the street was repaved in the fall of 2013.
Note that the markings used to delimit the parking spaces (the parking T's) have the limit lines extending almost 2 ft beyond the line marking the outer edge of the space. By staying beyond the outer edge of this mating, cyclists are almost clear of the 'door zone'. It may be possible to modify these T's to also be effective door zone markers.
The pictures in this collection show how a door on a 'typical' car compares to the lines and also show measurements for ky widths of the parking zone, bike lane, and markings.
