01-01 Wawona--Hotel and Meadow
Welcome to the galleries of photos from my May 2017 trip to the Yosemite area. Unlike my previous trips to Yosemite in 2017, I spent most of my time outside the Valley. I first used Wawona as a base to explore its local area and venture to Glacier Point. Unfortunately, access to the nearby Mariposa Grove of Sequoias in closed off until later in 2017.
After leaving Wawona, I stayed west of the park at Buck Meadows and came back to see the Hetch Hetchy area. Intermixed with these travels were some quick dives into Yosemite Valley itself.
These galleries are organized to first present some of the scenes around Wawona. These are followed by a series of galleries with pictures from the Glacier Point area, and then a gallery of Hetch Hetchy photos. Finally, there are some galleries of views from the valley approaches and then a few pictures from my raids into the Valley.
So, to start, here are some pictures from the Hotel at Wawona (called the Big Trees Loge for now) and the adjacent meadow.
